Most Popular

Cable & Winch

The most common, cost-effective anchoring method for floating docks. Cable anchoring mounts to shore or deadweight anchors on the lake bed, making it ideal for deep water, significant water level fluctuations, and seasonal dock removal. Cables and winches let you crank your dock closer or further from shore as water levels change — a must-have for Midwest lakes that freeze in winter.

  • Best for deep water applications
  • Handles extreme water level fluctuations
  • Easy seasonal dock removal and reinstallation
  • Winch system allows adjustment from shore
  • Most economical anchoring solution

Best for Midwest Lakes

Pole & Sleeve

Pole and sleeve anchoring is the go-to solution for lakes with heavy wave action or wind exposure. Rigid vertical sleeves attach to the dock frame, with long galvanized steel poles running through them into the lake bed. The poles self-anchor without driving — and a winch system on each pole allows complete seasonal removal when needed. Provides excellent lateral stability while still being fully seasonal.

  • Superior lateral stability in wind and waves
  • Self-anchoring poles — no pile driver needed
  • Fully removable for winter storage
  • Compatible with all ExpressDocks floating systems
  • Ideal for open-water and exposed shorelines

Pile

Pile anchoring is the permanent, heavy-duty solution for high-load dock applications. Dock sections slide up and down piles as water levels change, with built-in low-friction UHMW-PE rollers that operate silently and protect the dock frame. Compatible with wood, steel, concrete, or fiberglass piles — and ideal for commercial marinas, large residential docks, and locations with significant tidal or seasonal water level changes.

  • Permanent, maximum-stability installation
  • Silent UHMW-PE rollers accommodate water level changes
  • Compatible with wood, steel, concrete, or fiberglass piles
  • Ideal for commercial and heavy-load applications
  • Best for sites with existing pile infrastructure

Seawall & Bulkhead

Stiff Arm

Stiff arm anchoring connects your dock rigidly to a fixed shore structure, seawall, or bulkhead — providing a stable connection without piles or cables in the water. Available up to 60 feet in length to accommodate setbacks from shore. Often used in combination with a winch and cable system for larger dock configurations. Ideal where local regulations restrict in-water anchoring or when a clean, minimal look is desired.

  • Up to 60 feet to accommodate large setbacks
  • No in-water anchoring hardware required
  • Clean, minimal appearance
  • Compatible with seawalls and bulkheads
  • Often combined with cable system for large docks
